Chinese Lion Dancers Can Take Your San Francisco Wedding Reception To Another Level!

©Photos By Steve Keegan, 2014 All Rights Reserved.I recently shot a large Chinese wedding in San Francisco that had a lot of great details, but these traditional lion dancers stole the show! For a nominal investment of around $400, a dozen drummers and dancers invaded the space to the surprise of everybody in the room and absolutely put on a show that none of these guests will ever forget!Don't feel like you have to be of Chinese ancestry to take advantage of these incredibly talented performers. Chinese Lion Dancers Can Take Your San Francisco Wedding Reception To Another Level!

©Photo By Steve Keegan, 2014 All Rights Reserved.I had to leave for a wedding out of the area this past weekend, and it just occured to me that I never posted the last image for my Black & White Challenge! This image was taken with my iPhone while waiting for my plane to arrive inside the Reno/Tahoe Airport main terminal. This is actually a refection in the window. I liked the surreal nature of the image, the grain, the cowboy hats and just the overall scene. For the final day of the Black & White challenge, I nominate fellow Reno photographer and photojournalist David Parker. I met David while interning at the Reno Gazette-Journal a long, long time ago. Have fun, David!

I also know every wedding I've ever shot that has had a slideshow of the couple growing up has been a massive hit—complete with a lot of laughing and crying ...

It turns out California Deputy District Attorney Daniel Powell wasn'tjust advocating for the futures of others when he arguedin front of the California Supreme Court to overturn Proposition 8—the amendment Californians passed in 2008 to outlaw same-sex marriages. He was also fighting for the future of his partner of four years, Jonathan Calabretta, and himself. On Saturday, their dream of becoming legally married became reality when they tied the knot in Sacramento at Beatnik Studios in front of family and friends. One of the highlights of the ceremony featured a reading of Daniel's closing argument to the court, which poetically made the case for why same-sex marriage should be ...
